What to wear for sunset beach portrait session- Emerald Coast

That is a great question  that I get asked often.  I am going to provide some examples of what to wear for outfits for a beach session.  This article will focus on what to wear for your sunset beach portrait session.  We will talk about hair and accessories in the next article.

My first recommendation is….

Wear something comfortable because you will have to move a lot in the sand and heat. Long dresses look beautiful on women.  Do not wear short skirts or short dresses because the most flattering poses will be sitting.  Therefore, if you wear a skirt or short dress you will not be able to sit and the poses will be limited to standing.  This does not allow for any variation in posing.  So lets talk about a good example of what to wear.  This family is not only beautiful but did a great job of creating a variation for clothing.  The Mother’s dress was a beautiful pick.

As you can see sitting looks beautiful as well as standing.

The train on the back makes for a beautiful walking on the beach image.  Our beaches are stunning and the right outfits create a beautiful image.

The next topic will be colors.  Blues mixed with whites are my favorite colors right now.  It really seems to help the emerald blue green water pop.  Here is another example.

Here are few more examples that I feel the family did an awesome job color coordinating outfits.  When attire is matched appropriately the outcome is a stunning family portrait.
